MURAL FOR REDDING SCHOOL DISTRICT, CA
This project was made possible by an Art Education Grant from the Redding Elementary School District in Redding, California. Artist Margaret Murray was hired to design and execute this mural at Manzanita Elementary School while instructing and guiding the students. Grades 2nd - 5th were invited to contribute to the completion of this mural, assisted by the artist. Completed in May 2024
The vast majority of this project was completed by Margaret herself, by hand. She used a high-quality exterior paint that was designed to withstand the harsh elements of Redding, CA.
This mural honors the stunning views and expansive skyline of the Redding Valley. The art features the prominent Mount Shasta, the rolling hills of Millville Plains, the signature silhouette of Mount Lassen, and the beautiful Burney Falls. The layout of this mural represents the east-to-west journey of these landmarks.

MARTIN LUTHER KING JR MOBILE MURAL
This mobile mural was constructed and designed by Margaret Murray on behalf of the City of Redding Parks Department, and she guided over 100 Summer Camp students at 3 different camps to participate in the collaborative collage. This artwork was made in honor of Martin Luther King Jr. and the designs were inspired by various textile patterns, chosen by each individual student.
Each student was invited to choose colors, patterns, and symbols that were important to them, and use those to decorate the background and add to the collage. This 4’ x 12’ mobile mural now resides at the City of Redding Parks and Recreation Department.
