About Me
I am Margaret Murray, a Fine Artist, Muralist, and Instructor.
I paint to capture the beauty that I see everywhere. Since I can remember, I have been trying to unlock the secrets of capturing the world around me.
I am in love with the way light plays in the forest, with the way the sun dances with the horizon, with the way the wind sings. In all of my work, I try to capture the magic atmosphere of the world, as well as its likeness. These paintings are my attempts at this.
Thank you for visiting.

Full Biography
Margaret Murray is a West Coast muralist, landscape painter, and Art Educator. Her individual work focuses on intertwining impressionism, realism, and bright flares of color in the landscapes she explores while hiking and adventuring. She seeks to honor and appreciate the natural wildernesses of the world, paying special attention to the region between the Cascades and the Pacific Coast.
Margaret is also a dedicated Educator who has taught students of all ages in multimedia arts. In 2018, Margaret received her Bachelor of Fine Arts from San Jose State University, and she has been sharing her knowledge and expertise since then, both in person and online. While her work as an instructor initially involved in-person weekly classes for kids and adults, her teaching practice has evolved over the years. She has led a grant-funded Art Therapy class dedicated to providing exposure of the Fine Arts to at-risk youth in the City of Redding, CA. Margaret has designed and implemented large-scale mural projects for hundreds of school-age children for the City of Redding as well as the Redding School District. Additionally, she has been teaching Advanced Fine Art to adult students online for several years, helping them hone their own skills in oil painting, watercolor, and drawing.
Wherever she goes, Margaret works hard to spread the joy of painting and to add beauty to the world. She moved to Bellingham, Washington in May of 2024, and in addition to developing a new body of work, Margaret is working as an Apprentice Carpenter, learning an entirely new range of skills.
